The inspiration for Hello Coco’s first book, Suds, Songs, and Aunt Fancy’s Salad, came from Latrice’s real-life experiences cooking with her niece. During their time in the kitchen, her niece would often take breaks for different activities. Each time she returned, Latrice greeted her with a cheerful reminder: “Welcome back, remember you have to wash your hands.”

Before long, this simple phrase turned into a catchy song—a fun and memorable way to encourage good hygiene. Even when Latrice wasn’t around, her niece would happily sing the tune, making handwashing a joyful habit!
